Loarre Castle, eternal candidate for World Heritage status by UNESCO
Source:Heraldo de Aragón
The Aragonese fortress has been on the Spanish Government's waiting list for 17 years to be presented to UNESCO as a candidate for World Heritage status.
The Loarre Castle in Huesca is in the limbo of the monuments that have everything to be declared World Heritage by UNESCO.
Everything… except for a sponsor to defend them before international organizations. The Alto Aragonese fortress has remained on the indicative list of the Ministry of Culture for 17 years, and this 2024 has been a new lost opportunity. Once again, the Spanish government has not chosen it to present it to UNESCO.
